Navigation Hazard - Submerged Pile

LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS NO. 1 of 2018 

 

Notice is hereby given that following a collision incident, a steel mooring pile is submerged on the southern side of the navigation channel to the north of the Berthon Marina. Initial surveys show that the pile is projecting up into the water column presenting a hazard to vessels navigating in the area.

 

THE SUBMERGED PILE IS LOCATED AT:         N 50° 45’ 30.2             W 001° 31’56.3

 

 

A navigation exclusion zone has been created between 4 yellow buoys to mark the hazard.

 

THE NAVIGATION EXCLUSION ZONE CO-ORDINATES ARE:

 

N 50° 45’ 30.20           W 001° 31’56.55

N 50° 45’ 30.21           W 001° 31’57.23

N 50° 45’ 29.89           W 001° 31’56.93

N 50° 45’ 29.84           W 001° 31’57.86

Mariners should pass with caution and stay outside of the exclusion zone.
