Operation of Hovercraft within Harbour Limits

02 July 2019

Number 6 of 2019

Notice is hereby given that consent has been provided to the Environment Agency to operate a small hovercraft within Lymington Harbour limits for the purpose of undertaking intertidal vegetation surveys between July 2019 and September 2019.

Due to the way a hovercraft is operated, harbour speed limit may be exceeded for small durations. The nature of a hovercraft also means that the wake generated by the operations is negligible. Most of the survey will be over mudflats with the survey planned to coincide with low-water spring tides.

Flights are planned to take place between the following dates, subject to weather:

17th and 19th July 2019                   (planned day is 19th July)

19th and 21st August 2019              (planned day is 20th August)

In the event that flights cannot be concluded within the above windows, contingency dates of the 2nd and 3rd September 2019 have been allowed.

This notice will self cancel on the 4th September 2019.
