How to apply for a resident mooring

Resident mooring licences for boats up to 10.5m are open to people who permanently reside on the mainland within 7 miles of Lymington Church and who are the owner or majority shareholder of the boat to be moored. A waiting list applies.

IMPORTANT: Applications must be in one name and are not transferable, i.e. joint applications are not permitted. Members of a mooring holder’s family, for example a spouse, partner or children, or a partner in boat ownership, are reminded that they have no rights to take over a mooring and must apply to join the waiting list providing they fulfill the application criteria.

IMPORTANT:  Mooring fees for dredged mid river fore and aft moorings and non walk ashore berths do not cover the cost of provision. In November 2022 Commissioners approved a budget whereby for each year from 2024 until 2031 (8 years), prices for these categories of moorings will be increased by 7.2% per annum plus the inflationary increase applied to all mooring fees.

Completed application forms should be returned together with payment for the waiting list administration fee (please check fee with Harbour Office) and a photocopy of your driving licence or a council tax and utility bill in your name showing your local address to:-
