BATH ROAD SLIPWAY – DINGHY SHORT TERM MOORING

LNTM 13 of 2021

Notice is hereby given that following consultation with the Royal Lymington Yacht Club, Lymington Town Sailing Club and Lymington Sailability, a mooring facility has been installed to make it easier for single handed dinghy sailors to secure their dinghy while they are collecting or removing their trailer.

The new facility consists of a length of secured ground chain running along the northern side of the slipway as shown on the Google Earth image below. Depending on the state of the tide, sailors can tie off their dinghies on the ground chain or to the eye above each buoy on a short painter. The use of buoys and their location is being trialled and we welcome feedback from slipway users.

Please note the ground chain and buoys are for the use of small non powered sailing dinghies on a short term basis while the owner of the dinghy is removing or retrieving their hand trailer. They must not be used for any other purpose. Motorised craft or small yachts should use the pontoon waiting area on the southern side while launch vehicles are being moved.
