Local Information

Lymington is in the perfect spot as the words on our Coat of Arms suggest - "By Sea and Forest Enchanted". The stunning New Forest on our doorstep, offering a variety of walks and activities, and you're never far from the water. Not only this but Lymington's shops and attractions are sure to keep you from running out of things to see and do.

The harbour is perfectly situated for all your shopping requirements. Just a short walk up the quaint cobbled street (Quay Hill) past the individual boutiques, restaurants and local pubs brings you into the heart of the town centre.

The High Street offers numerous individual boutiques alongside big names such as Boots, Fat Face, Henri Lloyd, Musto, Waterstones and WHSmith. Food shopping is taken care of with a Marks and Spencer, Waitrose, Tesco Metro together with a bakery and health food outlets.

There is a busy and vibrant Saturday market every week which dates back to the 13th century, selling everything you may need from fresh fish to flowers, CDs to clothes.

There are numerous coffee shops, some which offer alfresco refreshments giving the area a continental feel although the historic ambience of Lymington is not diminished. Soak up the atmosphere as you relax on deck with a delicious take away from one of the nearby establishments and then watch the scene as it changes constantly both on and off the water.

As you would expect there are plenty of pubs offering good food nearby including the Ship Inn with its waterfront patio area - perfect for enjoying lunch or relaxing over drinks as the sun goes down!

As you walk from the quay up to the High Street you will find popular Chinese, Italian and Indian restaurants.
