Lymington Harbour Act & Revision Orders

The legal basis for the establishment and authority of Lymington Harbour is set out in the Pier and Harbour Order (Lymington) Confirmation Act, 1951 and the subsequent Lymington Harbour Revision Orders (HRO) 1976 to 2014.

Recent Legislation

As recommended in Ports Good Governance Guidance and the Port Marine Safety Code, Lymington Harbour Commissioners keeps legislation under review to ensure it remains fit for purpose.

The most recent legal review of powers took place in 2021. In addition, LHC internally reviews its General Directions on an annual basis to ensure they remain fit for purpose.
